The Elgin Pelicans are a YMCA and USA Swimming team located in Elgin, Illinois. The team exists to provide Fox Valley area youth with a competitive and instructional swimming program. Our goal is to instill a sense of accomplishment and pride in each swimmer while building friendships and experiencing success.
ELY is more then a swim team-it is a Family
The Elgin YMCA Swim Team is a nationally recognized competitive swim team for youth 5-19 years. It is a great place to make new friends at practice, meets and social events. Our outstanding, certified coaches strive to teach, train and motivate swimmers to achieve their personal best. Together with supportive parents, our coaches provide a positive and healthy environment that develops each swimmer self confidence and leadership. Our swimmers support each other as member of a team and family.
The Pelicans are broken into 6 training groups by age and /or ability. We offer challenging and fun practices for ALL swimmers from beginners to the more seasoned swimmer. There are no daily practice attendance requirements for any training group and each swimmer may pick the meets in which he/she will participate.
